Dutch architectural firm Crielaers&Company was invited to develop a total revised plan for the basement of the theatre and event space Spant! in Bussum.
The interior was designed so that the atmospheric theatre restaurant could be transformed to a space for conferences and events.
Sustainability played a large role during the renovation.
The architects have choosen different types of flooring to separate the different areas of the space.
“The tile floor gives the walking zone. For the more intimate spots, such as private dinning, bar and restaurant we have choosen a wood herringbone floor. For the central area, we opted for a cast floor. The place is intimate, atmospheric and timeless. It is a place where young and old feel comfortable.” Crielaers&Company
The porcelain tiles chosen for the floor are part of the Labyrinth Collection designed by Giulio Iacchetti for DesignTaleStudio, the creative ceramic laboratory of the Italian company Ceramiche Refin.
“The Labyrinth project derives from an original geometric patter which make it possible to create never-ending graphic mazes the eye gets lost in. In the Mirror tiles the graphic module results in a structure able to enhance the depth effect, adorning the tile with a unique and subtle woven trompe-l’oeil effect reminiscent of textiles.” Giulio Iacchetti
