Ceramiche Refin and Michele De Lucchi at the Triennale in Milan

For the fourth consecutive year inside the fabulous location of the courtyard opposite the Triennale in Milan, Ceramiche Refin took part in the Fuorisalone exhibition with a lot more updates and events compared to previous years: a bigger set than usual which stood out more, thanks to the broader location with a strong impact and the collaboration with Michele De Lucchi, one of the most esteemed figures in the world of design and architecture, who created, exclusively for Refin, a design project in which ceramic is the absolute protagonist.

Ceramic is a marvellous material, not only as it is functional, cosy, solid, long-lasting, resistant, natural and eco-friendly, but mainly because it is earth.
The earth is all we have and it is, both physically and metaphorically, the most precious material.
Ceramic can create surfaces featuring any colour or finish and it allows for countless combinations of decors, natural imitations, creative geometries.
Too often though, we associate ceramic tiles exclusively with wall and floor coverings and too often we forget the majesty of this material only to keep the effect of a wall covering or of a flooring unaltered over time. But, a ceramic tile is earth, therefore it is an excellent building material, the best, the most ductile building material of all and thanks to this evocative game, these high and slender buildings came to life, as if thoughts which fly high in the sky.
Thus, the rigid ceramic tile transforms into a new material, rich in suggestions and hints, which lead us to a new era, where the ceramic cladding is not just a mere covering skin but a marvellous material which, springing from earth, brings all of us, contemporary men, back to the Earth.

Temporary architecture projects by Michele De Lucchi

"From earth to the Earth", the temporary architecture project by Miche De Lucchi, was the perfect interpretation of the values of Refin ceramic tiles: 100% Italian research and technology in harmony with nature.
Within this design set, we presented unique works of art that reproduce architectural projects created by Michele De Lucchi and made with ceramic tiles.
