March 10-11 2015,
Italian porcelain tile manufacturer Ceramiche Refin have chosen the inaugural Retail Design Expo in London to launch their latest collections onto the UK market.
The DISTRICT and FOSSIL collections will take centre stage on the Refin stand (F42) at London’s newest design show.
DISTRICT is a collection of three different ranges inspired by modern urban settings. District offers a rich array of textured ceramic tiles which combine rusty painted metal and antique, wellworn marble (Garage), asphalt surfaces (Road), and time-worn wood and small bricks (Track). As with all Refin collections, the ranges within District are available in a selection of colour and size options, and Road is available in a 2cm thick outdoor version suitable for terraces and public spaces.
The FOSSIL collection of porcelain tiles is a translation of the prehistoric imprints left by plants and animals in rock formations, and designer Kasia Zareba took early inspiration from the fossilized marks left by the fluted shells of ammonites. The hand-drawn pattern gives it a unique feeling, resembling traces of primeval creatures pressed against the surface of the stone.
Traces of the pattern break and overlap much like the signs of time in prehistoric sites and archaeological excavations. Fossil is available in three neutral colours – beige, grey and brown – with 5 different graphic patterns to be laid randomly.
